HOW TO CHOOSE A DOMAIN NAME FOR A BLOG

I know the pain of making decisions when you are starting a blog.  You are just a newbie in this area, nonetheless, you already need to know how to choose a domain name for a blog, and how to register a domain.

You get overwhelmed and stuck at the very first steps of your life-changing blogging journey. I know how it feels. I don’t want you to lose your dream, and I want you to avoid the typical mistakes new bloggers make – I made them all, trust me.

1. FIRST, INVESTIGATE!

I know the pain of choosing a domain name for a blog. How would you like to have one of these two domain names?

A. Have your blog’s name be different from the domain name used by your competition.

B. Have your blog’s name be similar to the competition’s name, but not the same (web hosting companies, search engine providers, etc.).

C. Have your blog’s name be the same as that of a competitor.

This is a tough decision because some of us are very specific in our tastes and preferences when it comes to topics we write about and how we write about them. The more specific you are, the less chance you have to make an error as it is impossible to be 100% sure in choosing a domain name for a blog.

Most people opt for A or C above because they want their site to stay unique and separate from other blogs on the web, or want their site to look professional and not just like another blog on the internet.

In my opinion though (and this is just my opinion), if you want your site to stand out from other sites then it would be better if you choose B above or if you want your site to be similar/identical to that of any other web hosting company or search engine provider (all web hosting companies are not exactly alike). These are just examples though, there are thousands of domain names out there that could fit into this category so it isn’t really that difficult to choose what is best for your business needs!

2. TRY TO FIND A . COM NAME

You can do it in less than an hour, I promise.

I hope you’re not like me and don’t feel like you know anything about domain names. Generally speaking, domain names act as a pointer to one or more websites that would be associated with the same name. There are two types of domain names; one is for a generic website (like blogspot.com or myspace.com), and the other is intended for a website with a particular keyword (like blogs.com).

A generic website would be .com, .org, .net etc… A site hosted by Linkedin requires a .net brand name.

I tend to go with generic websites because they are easier to remember and they have more flexibility in terms of branding and marketing content due to their nature; they allow for more creative freedom but have less flexibility in terms of branding and marketing content due to their nature;

they allow for more creative freedom but have less flexibility in terms of branding and marketing content nature; they allow for more creative freedom but have less flexibility in terms of branding and marketing content due to their nature;

they allow for more creative freedom but have less flexibility in terms of branding and marketing content due to their nature; they allow for more creative freedom but have less flexibility in terms of branding and marketing content due to their nature…

They all say something about the same thing so if you want your brand name related to your website then it’s best if you go with a generic domain name like Blogspot, MySpace, etc… You can always change the brand name once I find it easier to remember!

3. CHOOSE A DOMAIN NAME WITH KEYWORDS

Domain names are easy to find. They’re nearly all .coms. They look like the domain name is a .com, but it isn’t. It doesn’t have to be a .com, though. It could be a ccTLD (commercial subdomain), a short for a geographical area (a city), or an abbreviation of something that has nothing to do with computers (like the “s” in Apple).

A short Example www.tips4urdu.com

An abbreviation Example: “Aurora”

A city Example: Chicago

4. KEEP IT UNDER 15 CHARACTERS

Domain names are a combination of your name, your website, and your domain. So the more information you give people about yourself, the better chance that someone will click on your link. But what if you want to use a domain name for something else?

So, you need to decide what sort of non-personal information you want to share with the internet. For example, where are you from? What are some of your hobbies? Your favorite colors? If you want to make money by blogging, then it is important for you to choose a domain name that contains only these three things:  – YOUR NAME;  – YOUR BLOG URL; and  – YOUR WEBSITE URL.

If someone were to look at these three elements of your blog and go “oh there’s that guy again,” they wouldn’t know who they were talking to because there’s no personal information tying the two together! A domain name is just another way for people to find you (whether they follow your blog or not). The most important part is that it doesn’t matter what the person thinks when they see this. It still doesn’t matter who they think or why they think it.

5. BE UNIQUE

A domain name is a .com or .net extension that you can use for your website. This is important because if you are not unique, you will lose the interest of visitors and they won’t be able to find what they are looking for.

You can have a domain name that is different from your competition. Using the word “www.” in front of your site’s address will attract all visitors to your site, but this may not be enough if you want to attract people who don’t yet know about your blog.

The best way to choose a domain name for a blog is to find something unique and catchy, like “www.tips4urdu.com,”

6. AVOID NUMBERS AND HYPHENS

If you are looking for a domain name, do not pay attention to the number. If you know the number of your target’s website, then you probably know the domain name that should be chosen for your blog. However, if the name is a .com or .net, then it’s not that easy.

There are more than five thousand .org names out there and I simply don’t know how many of them can serve as a good domain name for a blog.

The first thing to realize is that most domains are used to allow webmasters to use their own personal names in the URL. The main purpose of a domain name is for webmasters to distinguish their websites from other ones and it becomes difficult when all the websites have identical names.

Another thing you need to keep in mind when choosing a domain name is that people who are searching for blogs on Google or search engines like Yahoo! will often use keywords such as “blogged”, “bloggers”, “blogs”, etc., which will help you get found quickly on Google and other search engines.

7. SAY IT ALOUD!

In this blog, we’re going to look at the topic of choosing a domain name for your blog. It’s usually one of the most important decisions you make when creating a blog. But it’s not always an easy decision, especially if you’re a newbie to the world of internet marketing.

First, let me just recap all that we talked about in “Preparing Your Blog and Domain Name” (Chapter 3).

We covered the steps needed to create a blog and a WordPress site. We went through different ways to create an email address and register a domain name on your brand new online store. We made sure that your website has a good SEO score, so people can find it easily on Google and other search engines.

Now that you have your blog site up and running, you are ready to begin searching for a domain name for your new website.

There are many factors involved when choosing domain names for your new website. What does it mean when I say “domain name”?

For example:

You may be looking for .com domains because they are easier to remember than .org domains or .net domains; however, each of these three types is also very useful in its own way as well!

For example: .com is used by many people as an abbreviation of “Company”. The same goes with .net or .org they each mean something different depending on who is referring to the domain name; however, they each represent something that is extremely valuable in the world of Internet marketing!

There are many reasons why you should consider registering your email addresses with Google’s free service called Gmail; however, there’s also every reason why you should consider registering them with Yahoo!,

Hotmail, Windows Live Hotmail, or other services that can help boost your search engine rankings! Remember that Google markets its services very heavily (and often at no cost) so if you’re putting some serious thought into choosing which service best suits your needs,

then there’s no reason not to choose those services above others especially since all have pretty decent security features built into them (especially Hotmail). If you’re still not sure which service would suit you better than others, then simply ask yourself one question:

Would I rather spend more time figuring out how to get my emails delivered correctly vs having bad emails delivered? If the answer is yes, then there’s no reason not to go with one of these services above the others; however if

8. DON’T GO TOO SPECIFIC

There are many reasons why you should choose a .com domain name for your blog. First, it is easier to buy a .com domain name than it is to buy a .net or .org (both of which are very expensive and hard to find). Secondly, there is more competition for the top spots in the search engines.

Thirdly, the system used by Google and Yahoo! determines that if you use a .com domain name then you can get more traffic. In this guide, we will focus on how to pick good domain names for your blog.

9. DON’T BE SHY AND USE YOUR NAME IN THE DOMAIN

The Internet is an incredible place for a newbie. It’s not just about the online experience it’s also about being a part of it and helping other people to do the same.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you are starting out, especially if you are not used to this kind of networking. You may think that .com is the thing to do, but it isn’t. There are plenty of other domains that will appeal to your audience as well as offer more value than just using a domain that only has .com in it.

If your audience likes one type of content (which is usually what I assume) then you should go with something like Blogspot or WordPress, or any other software which accepts blogs (like blogger). If you want to be able to upload video,

then there are many video hosting sites out there like YouTube or Dailymotion. It all depends on what your website needs at this point in time. Go with what your audience will appreciate most and hope within the next few months that they start appreciating your site too!

10. How do you register a domain name?

A domain name is a very important factor in web development. To start with, you need to pick the right domain name for your blog.

A common question is how to find a good domain name for your blog? Well, google it! You can use google for this purpose and search for the best .com domain names.

But, you must know that there are many websites that offer free domains such as Yahoo! and Google, so they will not force you to pay any money. There are other sites that charge you as much as $5 per month or $1 per day to get a domain name. The best domain names have been made available by www.domainname.com but that website also offers some premium domains at $2 per day or even $3 per day.

It’s better to buy cheap domains instead of buying expensive ones so it will serve you better in the long run.

If you want to buy a good .com domain name then check out www.domainname.com and see if they offer any great cheap domains like .info/. com/. org/. net/.

When it comes to choosing a web host then bear in mind that not all web hosts are equal when it comes to the quality of hosting and reliability of hosting services offered by them! Choose an appropriate hosting service like Bluehost, HostGator or GoDaddy, etc.,

depending on your requirement as well as a budget constraint; since most people in India do not have enough funds to pay more than $10-$15 a month for hosting services while they do have enough funds to pay up to 10$ -20$ per month for hosting service with a decent quality host like BlueHost or Hostgator etc., which is the most popular web host in India etc.,

which is quite cheaper than BlueHost or Hostgator etc., so it’s better to choose HostGator or Bluehost etc., depending on your requirement if you want to avail free domain name (especially free TLD) with a low price compared with Bluehost, etc.;

because most people who want more than one website at the same time do not want more than one website at the same time but rather just one website at the same time;

whereas people who want two websites at one time do not want two websites at one time but rather simply two websites at one time; while people who prefer three websites at the same time do not prefer three websites at one time but rather three websites at different times according to.
